John Adair John Adair is known internationally as an author and management consultant. He has been twice listed among the 40 people who have made the greatest contributions to management thought. Over two million individuals world-wide have participated in the Action-Centred Leadership training approach he pioneered. He was the world’s first professor of leadership studies and is at present visiting professor at the University of Exeter. John holds degrees from Oxford and Cambridge and a PhD from the University of London. After Cambridge he became senior lecturer in Military History and Leadership Training Advisor at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. He also spent two years as the first Director of Studies at St George’s House in Windsor Castle before becoming Associate Director of the Industrial Society in Britain. John has worked with directors and senior managers as a consultant to a wide range of organisations in the UK and overseas, including Shell, Exxon Chemicals, Mercedes-Benz, Unilever and ICI.
