Our Chief Executive
Rob joined us on 1st February 2011 from Goldman Sachs, and after 18 years service in the British Army where he served in a number of operational deployments, including most recently Afghanistan, and in a number of staff roles within the Ministry of Defence. Rob's interests include international affairs and travel, reading and the outdoors (whether mountain-biking, fly-fishing, natural history or walking Rupert the Springer Spaniel), although with two daughters under 6 years he seems to have little time for any of these hobbies.

Gaynor joined The Leadership Trust in April 2013 as the new Deputy CEO. Gaynor was the former director of business development of the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM).
Gaynor is an advocate of lifelong learning and is charged, she says, with ‘bringing leadership to life’. She lives and breathes vocational learning, having recently completed a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Coaching & Executive Mentoring in 2010.
Gaynor brings to the Leadership Trust a wealth of experience. She comes from a commercial background, having previously provided recruitment and training solutions for large corporate organisations.
Originally from Swansea, Gaynor has recently returned to Wales from London, where she lives with her partner. When time permits, Gaynor enjoys going to the theatre and opera and looks forward to her trekking holidays.

Our Leadership Development Consultants
Phil was a policeman for six years and a training officer for Cadets. He developed more commercial experience through running his own personal development business. In his role as Leadership Development Consultant Phil manages clients in London. He also runs many of our ‘Open Programmes’ and numerous bespoke programmes. Phil is a family man with four children. He has an interest in education and is active locally with the schools in his area, including being a Governor of a 750 pupil High School in South Herefordshire.

After a successful career in the Royal Navy, Mike joined The Leadership Trust in 1992. Alongside business development activities, he is Course Director for a range of open and bespoke courses for clients across private, public and voluntary sectors. Mike has also contributed to the work of the Leadership Trust Foundation supporting many organisations. Mike’s passion is canoeing, the wilder the better! Other outdoor activities range from gardening to family camping and watching his son play football.

Steve joined The Leadership Trust in July 2011 having previously for 13 years been General Sales Manager for an agricultural dealership in the South East, prior to this, Steve spent 20 years with Barclays plc first as Area Manager then Regional Sales Manager. Steve's interests include travel, most sports, particularly football, golf and fishing. Steve lives in Kent with his wife Jan.

Based in the North East, Karen has been a facilitator with The Leadership Trust for eight years and is one of their accredited executive coaches. She has over 28 years experience in the construction industry; 18 of these years were spent in senior management and director level positions during which time she provided board level facilitation, coached and mentored individual sales and construction staff, as well as developing the team working skills of large sales organisations in a target driven industry.

Sue Murkin has worked in both the public & private sector specialising in the professional and personal development of others. Sue's own enthusiasm for development is reflected in the accreditations she holds, which include, NLP (Master Practitioner), Certified Coach (TCA), EFT Practitioner (AMET), Hypnotherapist (American Board of Hypnotherapists), Motivational Maps Practitioner, Certified Youth Coach (TCA-MAGIC), Trainer (ITOL), Qualified Trainer (PTLLS), Certified Information, Advice & Guidance Practitioner, DISC Personality Profiling Practitioner

Christine has been a facilitator for the Trust since 2005 but expanded her role in September 2011 to represent the Leadership Trust in the Belgian market. She has 20+ years experience in several business sectors in managing positions relating mostly to international trade. Christine is also a coach and trainer and her other interests include anything related to personal development, traveling, reading and walking.

Head of Marketing
Robin has over 20 years experience of working in the corporate world. His roles included Product and Project management and Head of Marketing. Robin has also worked at Board level as a non executive director and has experience in both private and public sectors.
Robin is one of the Trusts' course directors, accredited coaches and facilitator.
Hobbies include photography, badminton and golf.

Head of Training and Development
Based in the South East, Jon's 25 year long business career was spent in the publishing and media industries. He served at board level for 10 years and for the past eight years he has practiced as an independent executive coach. Accredited by Bath Consultancy Group as a supervisor of coaches, mentors and teams, he supervises The Leadership Trust's coaching practice.

Head of Research
Professor Sharon Turnbull
Sharon is also a Fellow at The Leadership Trust. She is a leadership development specialist and academic who has published widely. Sharon has worked for many years with executives across the world, and her research interest is in global leadership and leadership wisdoms beyond the west. Following a successful corporate career in HR and Management Development, Sharon directed and taught on executive MBAs and other corporate executive programmes at Lancaster University Management School for almost ten years.
Sharon has a PhD in Management and an MBA (Distinction) from Lancaster University. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and is a Visiting Professor at the Universities of Gloucestershire and Worcester, a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the University of Lancaster.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoys adventurous travelling, trekking, and Herefordshire village life.
